White's Ferry owner provides update on ferry's future

The new owner of White's Ferry between Montgomery County in Maryland and Loudoun County, Virginia is still holding out hope that Loudoun County can successfully use eminent domain to help get the ferry running again.

According to WTOP, at a meeting Wednesday in Poolesville, Chuck Kuhn of JK Moving — who bought the ferry business in February with his wife, Stacy — said that he has been unable to reach an agreement with the landowner on the Virginia side. The ferry previously docked in Virginia on land owned by Rockland Farm LLC, which was in a yearslong legal dispute with the previous owner of the ferry before it shut down in December.
